Ginger Mint Lemonade | Immunity booster | Refreshing & Detox Summer drink

Ginger Mint Lemonade is the reviving morning drink which makes every summer morning very refreshing. As this lemonade contains loads of Vitamin C and anti-microbial properties, it is great to consume during the flu season (or any season) to boost our Immune system.

What else we want in this lockdown period? A perfect combination of limited and easily available ingredients, with Immune-boosting benefits and mouth-watering taste profile. Anyone can consume this drink with no hesitation. Just get ready to lip-smack because that much tasty drink is what I gonna post here.

The sourness of the lemon, the relishing flavour of mint leaves along with the mild heat from the ginger is an awesome combination to enjoy each sip of the energy drink. This lemonade is not only refreshing but also an energetic drink comprising loads of healthiness within it.

I used to make this drink at least thrice a week even during non-summer days as we stick to the tangy taste of the drink. So, the health plus tasty drink is here what I wanna post as because it is much needed now to strengthen our immune system.

So, the refreshing mint leaves, throat soothing ginger and the tangy scenting lemon are the three main heroes in this drink which when comes together would amaze our palate with no questions. One of the favourite drink among my kid's favourites which she used to enjoy and lip-smack on each sip.

The health profile doesn't deviate from lending the benefits, not even a single bit, as we use the ingredients raw. One more important thing is that I use the skin of lemon for this recipe which gives the intense flavour to the drink which makes it remarkable all the time.

So what could you expect possibly from this post?

  • A handful of mint leaves grind completely to make the lemonade a perfectly cool refreshing drink.
  • Along with the lemon juice, lemon zest (outer yellow skin of the lemon) is added to intensify the flavour of the lemonade.
  • A dash of fresh ginger to make the lemonade punchy with the mild heat perfect for soothing the throat.
  • The sweetness of the jaggery powder to balance the sourness of peppy lemon and the mild heat generated by the fresh ginger root.
A completely balanced, wanting-more kind of super summer morning drink is the Ginger Mint Lemonade which can't be possibly beaten by any other lemonades (is what I think!). This drink not only benefits the body metabolism but also will make the skin looks glowing.

How to Make?

  • Segregate the mint leaves from the stem and wash well. Add the handful of washed mint leaves to the mixer jar.
  • Peel off the skin of 1-inch fresh ginger root and chop it roughly. Add the chopped ginger root to the mixer jar.
  • Squeeze the juice from the lemon and make it ready to add. Add 3 tablespoons (or juice from one big lemon) to the mixer jar.
  • Cut a small wedge from a lemon and add it to the mixer jar. Alternatively, you can add a teaspoon of lemon zest (outer yellow layer of the lemon skin). I add a lemon wedge here. Don't skip this step as it gives a unique taste and intensifies the scenting lemon flavour (based on my experience!).
  • Finally, add the jaggery powder to the mixer jar. Jaggery pairs well with the main heroes of this drink. You could use organic honey as a substitute.
  • Grind the ingredients well with no water.
  • Add a half cup of water now to the mixer jar.
  • Start to grind again.
  • Now, add the remaining water (3 1/2 cups of water).
  • Transfer the drink to a strainer and filter out the residue.
  • The Ginger Mint lemonade is ready! Refresh yourself on each summer morning with this immune-boosting drink.

    Tips:

    • Use a big mixer jar which makes the job much easier.
    •  Don't skip adding lemon wedge or lemon zest as it makes the lemonade unique.
    • If using jaggery powder, add to the mixer jar and grind along with the other ingredients. If using honey, you could add after filtering out the residue.
    • Consume the drink immediately to get the benefits wholesomely.
    • You could skip the sweetening agent and add salt while making for diabetes patients.
    • Always peel the ginger before use.
    • Always avoid washing mint leaves (or any greens) in the running water as the nutrients may get vanished.
