The best tasting, super-easy and Instant Nuts Milkshake which I'm making for 3 years without any gap is what I'm sharing today through this post. Living with no medicine is greatly possible with a healthy lifestyle and of course, healthy food paves the right path to achieve the goal. The unhealthful foods are an occasional guest at my home as I try to make the Healthy food tastier as much as I can. This Instant Nuts Milkshake is one such try which becomes the favourite and daily evening drink of my kid.
 

 
Nuts Milkshake has been my little love's favourite and daily evening drink since her first tooth popped out. I haven't used any store-bought health drink powders for her so far. This easily made nuts milkshake is highly nutritious which helps to boost up the energy level. The creaminess and the yumminess of the drink would make your little ones lip-smack their creamy white moustache once they finish off the drink.
 
Simply wash and grind the dry fruits is what I feel easier as I'm making it daily. If you find some time or if you prepare occasionally, I suggest you soak the dry fruits for at least 30 minutes before making  the milkshake. Though the taste would be similar with or without soaking the nuts, the soaked and peeled-off nuts allow the better nutrient absorption making it more healthful. Even without soaking, we would get a very fine and smooth milkshake.
 

Do I  need to soak the nuts?

  • NO! The nuts can be enjoyed as such which lends no-flop to the health.
  • But, the skin of almonds contains some natural anti-nutrients which inhibit the absorption of nutrients. And, that is why it is recommended to soak and remove the skin for better nutrient absorption.
  • Also, soaking the nuts activate enzymes and allows easier digestion.

I usually add no sweetener to make this drink as the dates and figs do the sweetening job. If you feel that there is not enough sweetness, add in a dash of honey, maple syrup or even Dates & Raisins syrup to sweeten this health-rich Milkshake. When the recipe is super healthful and hassle-free to prepare,

Sometimes I add peanuts and raisins as well which also tastes so good. My version yields a thicker milkshake since my kid wants it to be thick (to get a thick white moustache! 🤣). You can reduce the number of nuts to make it thin, but dare not reduce the number of dates as they are the taste lifter and natural sweetener of this yummy Dry Fruits Milkshake.

Do's and Don't Dos:

  • Wash the nuts twice before grinding which may contain dirt particles.
  • If a mixer jar is used, don't rush up adding all the milk to the nuts. Adding milk little by little helps in getting the smooth consistency of the milkshake.
  • Do not use hot milk as the dried figs and raisins are supposed to curdle the milk. I always use warm milk for my kid. 
  • You can use ice-cold milk to get the best Milkshake experience. One more option is to add in some ice cubes while grinding and top the frothy & creamy Instant Nuts Milkshake with Kesar & Sliced nuts, which gives the perfect finish to the Instant Nuts Milkshake.

🍴 Servings: 3 cups

INSTANT Nuts/ Dry Fruits Milkshake

A creamy and yummy milkshake prepared instantly with dry fruits like dates, fig, raisins and other nuts.

What do you need? [1 cup= 150 ml]
  • Dates -6
  • Fig -3 
  • Raisins - 12 
  • Almonds -6
  • Cashews -6
  • Pistachios -6
  • Walnut -3
  • Warm or Cold Milk -3 cups (preferably cow's milk)
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Steps Involved:
  • Take all the dry fruits in a bowl and wash them twice.
  • Transfer to a mixer jar and run in a pulse-mode to grind them coarsely.
  • Add little milk along with the cardamom powder and grind to a smooth paste.
  • Add the remaining milk and grind to get the creamy milkshake.

How to Make?

  • Deseed the dates and add to a bowl along with the dried figs. If adding, add the raisins as well. I usually add black raisins which I failed to add as they ran out of stock.
  • Add in the cashews, almonds, pistachios and walnuts. You could add peanuts as well.
  • Add enough water and wash them twice or thrice before use. This helps in getting off the dirt.
  • Now, transfer the dry fruits to a mixer jar or blender and grind coarsely.
  • Add in about a cup of lukewarm or cold milk. If using a mixer jar, add a little milk, grind to a smooth paste and then add the remaining milk.
  • Add in the cardamom powder for the best flavour. You can skip this step if you don't want to flavour up the milk. 
  • Now, grind to attain smooth consistency. Add the remaining milk and grind again to get the thick and smooth milkshake.
  • The healthy instant Nuts milkshake is ready in no time.

Tips:
  • Adding fig and raisins to hot milk may curdle the milk in a few minutes. 
  • The proportion of nuts could be changed based on what avails at your home.
