Garlic-Corn Wheat Bread Omelet

Bread omelet is a very famous Indian street food which comes in many variations. Let it be any mix of spices, bread omelet could be a great snack or it could even be a complete breakfast for the kids. Always prefer bread made with wheat or multi-grains. The recipe I'm sharing with you is my way of doing bread omelet. With the goodness of egg, the sweetness of corn, the mild spiciness of chillies, and the garlicky flavor, this recipe would be great divine to eat.

What to Use?
  • Wheat Bread slice -2
  • Onion -1 medium size 
  • Garlic -5 to 6 cloves
  • Green chilly -1 
  • Salt -as needed
  • Turmeric powder -a pinch
  • Corn kernels
  • Egg -2 nos
  • Butter or oil -1tbsp

 How to Make?

1. Making Omelet Mix:
  • The very first thing to do is to get things ready. Finely chop the onions, mince garlic pods, deseed and cut chilly into small pieces.
  • Take a pan, add little butter/oil.
  • Add onions, garlic and chilly to the pan. Saute them till the onions turn transparent.

  • Add the cooked corn kernels now. Give a quick toss.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric powder and needed salt to the mixture, toss for a minute and switch off the stove.

  • Beat the eggs and add them to the mixture. Now Garlic-Corn omelet mix is ready.


2. Making Bread Omelet:
  • Grease Tawa with little butter and place the bread slices.
  • Pour omelet mix on the slices slowly in such a way to cover slices throughout.

  • Flip the bread to the other side and do the same.

  • Wait for a few seconds and flip again to get the other side cooked. 

  • Cut into triangle pieces and serve hot.
Tips: 
  • Pepper in the place of chilly would be a healthy replacement. Do lower or skip the chilly and use pepper powder if you prepare for kids.
